Public vs Private
When an item is posted for sale on Makatto, it may be designated either a private or a public item.

Public Items
Products that can be resold from the Storefront of any Makatto user. Resellers receive a commission (between .5% - 40%) when the items sells. Commissions are set by the owner when he/she posts the item.

Public Items
Products that can ONLY be sold in the Storefront(s) or Profile Page of the item owner. It may not be resold by other users on Makatto.

Reselling: Everyone Benefits!

Resellers earn money without physically having to own the items for sale. Resellers can leverage his/her popularity to earn commissions from reselling the items of other users.
|
Sellers get to have "fans" - individuals who support the Seller or the Seller's brand. By posting a Seller's items in their own storefronts, resellers are in essence promoting the Seller.

Both parties win - if a sale occurs, the Seller receives the order and the Reseller receives a commission from the sale!
